Remote Monitoring
As airports look for ways to increase efficiency and reduce costs, the use of intelligent video to enable remote monitoring offers them a host of alternative surface management options. Currently, controllers located at airport towers provide air traffic control (ATC) services for aircraft on the airport surface primarily by visual means (i.e., looking out the window). There are many cases where an out-the-window view is not possible or practical; new construction, runway extensions, tower blind spots and contingency operations. Each of these scenarios could benefit from the remote monitoring capabilities offered by the Searidge Intelligent Video platform, IntelliDARTM.
The Searidge Remote Monitoring solution supports remote tower operations by providing enhanced situational awareness to air traffic controllers.
The system delivers:
- Real-time ATC-grade video for visual confirmation of targets
- Radar-like coverage of all targets, including non-cooperative
- An out-the-window (OTW) view by using video from cameras deployed parallel to each other and “stitching” them together to provide a single panoramic view of an area.
Intelligent video helps controllers to effectively manage ground traffic with a high degree of confidence.
