Low-Cost Ground Surveillance

Providing financially viable airport surface surveillance

Challenges/Solution

Typical ASDE-X/A-SMGCS are complex multi-sensor based systems that require large scale capital programs to deploy and maintain. The cost and complexity of these systems make them out of reach for many of today's small and medium sized airports.

Comprehensive Airport Surface Surveillance using Intelligent Video

The Searidge Low-Cost Ground Surveillance solution serves as viable alternative to A-SMGCS and ASDE-X. It is based on a distributed set of non-cooperative sensors (video cameras) that are strategically installed at various points throughout the airport surface. The camera views are then fused into a single display, allowing the operator to see all the ground traffic in an intuitive one-look view, rather than having to scan multiple CCTV screens.

The solutions provides ground surveillance of all targets via a 'radar-like' 2-D view of the surface, and identifies and depicts all targets within the coverage area regardless of hardware equipage, supporting an increase in safety and capacity in the most cost-effective manner.
